Weather
You’ll need to know that the days are very hot and the nights get very cool. That is because Cairo has a desert climate so you’ll need to pack accordingly. The mildest weather occurs during the winters. You’ll want to bring jackets for the evenings no matter when you travel to the city. In January the average temperature is 56.8 degrees. Many visitors pick the month of February and March to visit Cairo.

In July the average temperature is 82.2 degrees. There are also frequent sandstorms during the months of April and May so you’ll want to keep that in mind when making travel arrangements.

Whenever you plan to travel to Cairo you will have an excellent time. The city is interesting and fascinating no matter when you are visiting.

Currency
The Egyptian pound is the main unit of currency and a hundred are worth about 4 to 6 US dollars. In each Egyptian pound there are one hundred piastres.
